1. Who we are

T&C Reader is a browser extension and website that explains the terms and privacy policies of other websites in plain language. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the operators of T&C Reader, and “you” means the person using it.

2. Using the service

You can use T&C Reader without an account. Some features, such as syncing your settings across devices, need an account with an email address and a password.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account.

3. Not legal advice

T&C Reader gives you summaries, grades and explanations generated with the help of automated tools, including AI models. They can be incomplete or wrong. Every claim links to the sentence it is based on so you can check it yourself. Nothing we show you is legal advice. For decisions that matter, read the original policy and consult a qualified lawyer.

4. Price and plans

All features are currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we will show the price clearly before you pay, and we will never charge you without your explicit consent.

Paid plans, if offered, will not renew automatically without telling you first, and you will be able to cancel online in a few clicks.

5. Your own AI keys

If you add your own API key for Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic, it is stored encrypted in your browser and used only to call that provider directly from your device. We never receive it. You are responsible for any charges the provider makes for your use of your key.

6. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• try to break, overload or reverse-engineer our servers;
• use automated tools to make requests at a scale no person would;
• use T&C Reader to harass anyone or to break the law.

We may limit or suspend access for accounts that do these things. Except in cases of serious abuse, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.

7. Your content

Questions you type and reports you send remain yours. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service and to improve the accuracy of our analysis. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to train third-party AI models.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, or by writing to us. When you do, we delete your profile, settings and synced history within 30 days.

9. Responsibility

We provide T&C Reader with care, but “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on our summaries. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.

10. Disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will try to fix it. You keep the right to take a dispute to the courts where you live. There is no forced arbitration and no class-action waiver in these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email (if you have an account) and in the extension at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows when they last changed.
